How to activate & deactivate ProMotion display on iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max

Two of the many interesting features of the new iPhone 13 Pro families is the new 120Hz adaptive display and the ProMotion – the ability to refresh the screen up to 120 times per second or 120 fps in short. It makes the movement on the screen look much more fluid and smooth to the eyes. However that comes with a cost – your iPhone battery life, although Apple has made the screen to be intelligently adaptive.

Here’s how to turn off / disable / limit ProMotion frame rate on iPhone Pro

Follow these steps to turn off / disable / limit ProMotion frame rate on your iPhone Pro:

1) Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display Accommodations.

2) Scroll down to find “Limit Frame Rate”.

3) Turn on “Limit Frame Rate”.

Turning on “Limit Frame Rate” option will basically turn off the 120Hz refresh rate and limit it to just 60 fps.


Here’s how to turn on / enable ProMotion frame rate on iPhone Pro

Well, in case you change your mind, do the other way around to turn back on ProMotion on your iPhone Pro:

1) Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display Accommodations.

2) Scroll down to find “Limit Frame Rate”.

3) Turn OFF “Limit Frame Rate”.
