Best multiplayer PlayStation 1 Classic games which you can play 2 player or more together | PSOne | PSX
My little brother and I were grew up during golden years of PlayStation 1.
Like it or not, unlike any console games before PlayStation where most of the games can be played multiplayer together, most PlayStation 1 games back then are meant for single person. But since we (my lil bro and I) had only 1 PlayStation machine at home, we need to find and play 2 players games so that both of us can play together. And as the results, I got to know plenty of great and memorable multiplayer games that my little brother and I were used to play.

Best 2 player or more PlayStation 1 Classic games
Here are in alphabetical sequence multiplayer games list that you can play on PlayStation 1 Classic.
1) Assault Suit Retribution.
Genre: 3D Side-scrolling Action.
Video tells much better than pictures or words. So here it is.
2) Bishi Bashi Special.
Genre: action puzzle.
Looking for something competing and entertaining at the same time? Try Bishi Bashi Special.
3) Chocobo’s Dungeon 2.
Genre: action adventure.
One of the first action adventure games by the Final Fantasy Maker – Squaresoft.

4) Crash Team Racing.
Genre: Racing & vehicle combat.
Must-have and must-play racing & vehicle combat game on the PSOne. I have spent hours and hours playing together with my little brother and neighbors using multi-tap. The game is up to 4 players.
5) Crisis Beat.
Genre: 3D side-scrolling Action.
When Final Fight or Street of Rage turned to 3D, it’s called Crisis Beat.
6) Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring.
Genre: Fighting & Adventure.
When Virtua Fighter and Tekken maker meet with Final Fantasy maker, here comes Ehrgeiz. You can play as Final Fantasy 7 Boss: Sephiroth with its Massamune sword. Oh, apart from fighting, there’s a adventure game inside as well, try the quest menu.
7) Fighting Force.
Genre: 3D Side-scrolling Action.
Initially named as Street of Rage 4, but since there’s disputes between Sega and Eidos – this game developer, it was renamed as Fighting Force. Same like Crisis Beat, this is Final Fight or Street of Rage in forms of 3D.
8) Future Cop LAPD.
Genre: Third-person shooter Action.
Controlling a mecha that can turn into a fast moving vehicle, you are playing as a future police which takes place is LA on year 2098.
9) Gran Turismo 2.
Genre: Racing.
The best racing simulation game built and made for PlayStation 1. My best car? Of course the red Escudo Pikes Peak Full Version.
10) Gunner’s heaven (or in US known as Rapid Reload).
Genre: 2D Side-scrolling Action.
If you love SEGA’s Gunstar Heroes, then you must like this game as well.

11) Legend of Mana.
Genre: Action – Adventure – RPG
One of the best combination of action, adventure and RPG game. Even better than best is you can play co-op in this game.
12) Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter.
Genre: Fighting
One of the best 2D fighting game on PlayStation 1. The game moves fast, acts fast, wins fast unlike 3D fighting games. My favorite character will be Wolverine and Onslaught.
13) Metal Slug X.
Genre: 2D Side-scrolling Action.
One of the most entertaining side-scrolling game on the PlayStation. The character can turned into mummy, or getting fat. You will laugh a lot playing this game together.
14) Panzer Bandit.
Genre: 2D Side-scrolling Beat ’em up Action.
This rare 2D Side-scrolling Beat ’em up action game was released only for Japan. However you don’t need to understand Japanese to play this game since this game is all about beating the enemies up!
15) Point Blank (known as Gun Bullet in Japan).
Genre: First-person shooter.
A fun first person shooter game where both players compete together to get the best scores.
16) Rampage: World Tour.
Genre: Action.
Destroy buildings, kick the passing cars, eat humans. Become a monster in Rampage World Tour.
17) Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo.
Genre: Puzzle Fighting.
Bored with the normal fighting games? Then you should consider this one. It’s combining Tetris with Street Fighter character.
18) Tekken 3.
Genre: Fighting.
One of the best 3D fighting game on PlayStation 1. My favorite character is not Jin Kazama, but Gon!
19) Twisted Metal 4.
Genre: Vehicle combat.
One of the most addictive game to play before the MOBA era is Twisted Metal 4. Get Sweet Tooth as one of the unlock-able characters.
20) Vigilante 8.
Genre: Vehicle combat.
Another vehicle combat game, Vigilante 8 is pretty much the same like Twisted Metal.
21) Winning Eleven Series.
Genre: Sports.
Fifa series for PlayStation 1 were too easy to beat and score goals, if you want something more challenging, play the Winning Eleven Series by Konami.
22) WWF Smack Down! 2: Know Your Role.
The first game was awesome, the second was even better. With multi-tap adapter, you can play up to 4 players. If you smeeeeeellllll, what’s the rock is cooking!
Bring It All Together.
Writing this article do bringing back my good ol’ memories where my little brother and me were just sitting in front of our TV and playing games most of the times during weekends from as early as 5 am in the morning! What a memory!
The list is not final list, as I recall more and more fun, great multiplayer games, I shall add them into the list here.
