Like to use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or some other browsers? You can now easily change the default browser on your iPhone!

In the past, there’s no way for iPhone users to change the default browser so although they can install other 3rd party browsers, but when it comes to open any links from other apps, the links always opened in Safari. However, things have changed now. With the introduction of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, Apple has made it possible now to change your iPhone default browser. Check out the steps below.

Here’s how to change iPhone default browser from Safari to some other browser

Prerequisites:

– Any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. In case you are not on iOS 15 yet, check out this guide on how you can install iOS 15: Updating iPhone & iPad to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 at JILAXZONE

Step 1) Install your browser of choice – be it Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Brave or anything else that you like to. If you have installed your browser of choice beforehand, then you can skip this step.

Step 2) Go to Settings, then find the browser you would like to make it as default browser (E.g. If your preferred default browser is Google Chrome, then go to Settings > Chrome).

Step 3) Inside the browser setting, tap on “Default Browser App”. Then choose your preferred default browser app (E.g. If your preferred default browser is Google Chrome, then tap on Chrome).

With the steps above, now your iPhone default browser is set to your browser of choice (E.g. Google Chrome). Try opening link from other apps, this time it will be opened on your browser of choice.

Bring it all together

With the simple and easy steps shared above, now you can change your iPhone default browser – Safari – to any other browsers that you preferred and any links will always open on your preferred browser. Apple should have enabled this option since the beginning!
