iOS Low Power Mode Shortcut: Easily enable/disable Low Power Mode on iOS 11

Apple introduced Low Power Mode back on iOS 9. In case you don’t know what is Low Power Mode, it’s a built-in feature made by Apple on its iOS to preserve battery life. By default, low power mode prompted to be activated whenever iOS device battery percentage – be it iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – has reached 20% or less. Should you choose to activate Low Power Mode when prompted, your battery icon will turn to yellow.

How Low Power Mode works

To achieve battery preservation, when Low Power Mode is activated, iOS will reduce and/or turn off certain not-so-important features such as animation, automatic downloads, background app refresh, Hey Siri, mail fetching, and some other things. In short, it won’t really affect your normal day-to-day usage and operation of your iOS device, except if you really make use of features such as Hey Siri or mail fetching. In case you rely on Hey Siri and/or mail fetching, it’s advisable not to turn ON Low Power Mode.

Enable Low Power Mode manually

From when it was introduced back on iOS 9 and until now (at the time this article is written Apple has come out with iOS 11 Public Beta 1), apart from getting prompted to activate Low Power Mode when you battery level is 20% or lower, you can actually enable (and disable too) Low Power Mode manually anytime as you like, even when you battery is showing 100% you can enable it to preserve your battery to live longer.
