iPhone 7 – What to Expect

iPhone 7 announcement is just around the corner, here’s are things expected from iPhone 7 – based on rumor:

iPhone 7 – What to Expect

1. iPhone 7 will have the same design as iPhone 6, but with little tweaks

Rumors and leaks said that iPhone 7 will not have overhaul design, but instead follow closely with iPhone 6 or 6s design. The only noticeable different will be the antenna line located on the back casing, instead of showing straight line on top and bottom part of the phone, iPhone 7 antenna line will follow the phone’s curve design.

Rumor make sense-ness: 90%

Reason: all the leaks are saying the same thing, so most likely it’s going to be true, except Apple last minute change the design, for the sake of avoiding websites/person claiming they got the correct leaks.

2. iPhone 7 will have new Home Button

Although is kind of hard on believing this rumor, but probably one of the biggest new features for iPhone 7 is the new Home Button and Touch ID where it’s no longer a mechanical button but rather a 3D touch screen with Touch ID capability (think like Google Nexus 6P Home Button and Google Nexus 6P Finger Print sensor combined into 1).

Rumor make sense-ness: 50%

Reason: Unless Apple has done research since couple last few years, changing a mechanical Home Button and Touch ID to be 3D touch is not a simple technology discovery.

3. iPhone 7 will lose it’s headphone jack

Apple has list of things that always makes people to scream, shout or yell for it’s decision, but over time people will get used to it. Things like the removal CD/DVD drive from Macbook, un-removable Macbook battery, changing 30-pin connector found on old iPhone with lightning port (did you even remember what’s 30-pin connector looks like?), release Macbook with only 1 USB Type-C port.

So based on those lists, I believe Apple will really remove the 20-year-old technology. Even Motorola with Moto-Z has done it first time before Apple.

Rumor make sense-ness: 90%

Reason: It’s time for another digital revolution, sound will no longer delivered by analog but digital solution. Motorola has done it, so it’s not something impossible, living without a headphone jack.

4. iPhone 7 will have iOS 10 and improve specs

The new A10 processor and M10 co-processor are must-have upgrades for iPhone 7, together with iOS 10. If leaks regarding the design is true, then iPhone 7 will likely to have same battery capacity but with longer life span and more efficient compared to previous iPhones.

The RAM will most likely stay at 2GB (2GB RAM just introduced on iPhone 6S).

Rumor make sense-ness: 99%

Reason: other than RAM size, the rest is true.

5. iPhone 7 will not be in 16GB

At least on iPhone 7 Plus won’t have it. With apps, games, photos, videos and contents became higher and higher in resolution, quality and complexity, they are required more space on the iPhone. 16GB will not be enough this time around and since Apple last year has introduced 256GB on iPad, this time Apple will bring 256GB to iPhone as well.

Two possible scenarios:
Scenario 1: iPhone 7 will have 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, while iPhone 7 Plus will have 32GB, 128GB and 256 GB.
Scenario 2: both iPhone 7 models will have 32GB, 128GB and 256 GB.
Rumor make sense-ness: 99%
Reason: Either scenario 1 or 2 – depends on Apple strategy to market the two iPhone 7, 16GB is simply not enough for nowadays daily usage, even with the help  on cloud storages.

6. iPhone 7 will have new Black color

Although I find a bit hard to believe in this rumor, but leaks say Apple will introduce a new black color for its iPhone (or to me it’s like reverting back to iPhone 5 color – well if you know the difference between iPhone 5 black and iPhone 5S space grey).

Rumor make sense-ness: 50%

Reason: If we all see Apple past releases, new color is only introduced on the iPhone ‘S’ family. Gold color was introduced on iPhone 5S event, Rose gold color was introduced back on iPhone 6S event. Do you get it? But we’ll see whether Apple’s going to break its tradition or not.

7. iPhone 7 separation between the normal and Plus are become more clear

Back when Apple introduced 2 models of iPhone 6, most of the public, including me, were confused to pick and choose which one to carry home as they were almost identical except the size. With the only noticeable different was the form factor, those who likes big smartphone and had extra money, opted for iPhone 6 Plus, while those who didn’t like giant phone, chose the smaller iPhone 6.

Now with iPhone 7, if rumors are true, the separation between iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will become more clear then ever.
Apart from the storage (iPhone 7 standard will 50% chance still in 16GB while iPhone 7 Plus will be at least have 32GB), both iPhone 7 will have improved camera but only iPhone 7 Plus will have dual camera.
Rumor make sense-ness: 90%
Reason: Apple wants to make it more clear, so that less people get confused with two iPhone models introduced, and with the line become more clear, Apple has reasons to make the Plus model even more expensive than ever.

The Verdict

Those all 7 things to expect from iPhone 7 event this week. Which one is true which one is not, we’ll see. What do you think?

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard toget that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a amazing job with this.In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Chrome.Exceptional Blog!

I do like the manner in which you have presented this matter and it does indeed present me personally a lot of fodder for thought. However, through what I have witnessed, I just simply hope as the actual opinions pile on that people today keep on issue and don’t embark upon a tirade of some other news du jour. Yet, thank you for this superb piece and though I do not concur with the idea in totality, I respect your point of view.
